Multicultural Business Association

Our Mission is to promote economic development and business opportunities through advocacy, networking, and capacity building for multicultural businesses and entrepreneurs.

ABOUT US

Advocacy

We advocate for multicultural businesses through our ongoing conversations and alliance with our local public entities and local multicultural businesses. Our goal is to explore, adopt and maintain a uniform model of measurable best practices with our local public entities and corporate partners that will promote an environment for multicultural businesses to start, grow and thrive.

Capacity Building

We build capacity by offering our members technical assistance and a variety of business and wealth-building educational opportunities in collaboration with our local and regional business resource partners. Our goal is to increase the number of multicultural businesses in the Springfield, Missouri area that are able to successfully compete for government-funded procurement/contracts as a certified DBE, MBE, or WBE.

Networking

We provide networking opportunities through our monthly Multicultural Networking Events, our Community Welcome Receptions as well as our Annual Heritage Awards Banquet. Our goal is to create and support multicultural professional social networks designed to create engagement and a sense of connection in the Springfield area.

Helping You Start

Whether a small or emerging business owner needs help starting their business, growing their company, or would like more information on federal, state, and local resources to help them succeed, we are here to help connect them to available resources.

Connecting Community

We also connect multicultural and diverse business professionals to one another and provides spaces for them to connect with others by establishing a sense of community, belonging, and while developing mutually beneficial relationships with other multicultural professionals in the Springfield region. Such efforts minimize feelings of isolation that some multicultural diverse professionals feel when they relocate to our city.
